Mr. D. Ramakrishna began his career in the plantation sector in 1984. He started with the JEDB as an Assistant Manager at Panawatte, Halpe, Abbotsleigh, and later Kirkoswald Estate. He then joined Madulsima Plantations as a Senior Assistant Manager before moving to Kelani Valley Plantations, where he served as Manager of Batalagala, Fordyce, and Ingestre Estates.
He was subsequently appointed Deputy General Manager for the Hatton Group of Estates at Kelani Valley Plantations Ltd., and later served as Deputy General Manager of the Nuwara Eliya Group of Estates while managing Pedro Estate.
Mr. Ramakrishna possesses extensive knowledge and experience in tea manufacturing and good agricultural practices. He has also successfully completed the Tea Manufacture Examination conducted by the National Institute of Plantation Management,
